J's Indie/Rock Mayhem - 27th January 2010

[Welcome to another fantastic edition of J's Indie/Rock Mayhem. The new music is flying fast and furious in tonight's show, so a lot of great stuff to hear.

Tonight's show is retroactively in memory of Howard Zinn. You'll hear me talk about his death during the show as the information was coming over the web while I was broadcasting. Zinn's The People's History of the United States is one of the most formative books I've ever read and probably one of the truest 'life-changing' books I've ever read. He will be sorely missed.

The problem involving last week's podcast has been resolved, though the podcast has not been re-uploaded. I'll let you know via Twitter when that happens. Make sure you're following me on Twitter so that you can pick up on this stuff. Just sayin'.

Now, without further ado, onward.]

J's Indie/Rock Podcast: 27th January 2010 show

Theme Song - Peaches - "Rock Show"
>
Decoration Ghost - "Father's Fists" [from the forthcoming the haze of wine and age. some great greensboro rock and roll. they'll be at the green bean this friday night along with athens, georgia's part bear and winston-salem's the tallboys. woo, rock!]
the Jayhawks - "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" [from smile. this record took awhile to grow on me, mostly because it was one of the slicker things the jayhawks ever recorded, but it's a great, great, great pop record. i think my younger self was a little snubby about them touring opening for matchbox 20 when pushing this album. ah, the haze of youth.]
Chuck Prophet - "American Man" [from let freedom ring! i'm enjoying this record and we'll hear quite a bit more. didn't like this song as much as "sonny liston's blues," but that's a whale of a track to open an album with.]
Lake Inferior - "Johnny B" [from the excellent pegasaur EP which is out now. you own a copy, yes? yes? what? you're dead to me.]
>
Surfer Blood - "Swim" [from the new astro coast. first heard this on the first aquarium drunkard radio show mix that came out last late fall, but this record is stellar. we'll hear a lot more.]
Uncle Tupelo - "Gun" [from still feel gone. an underrated record in UT's catalogue that gets unfairly overlooked between the awesomeness of their debut and the greatness of the third and fourth albums. i liken it to the clash's give 'em enough rope which hardly ever gets its due as a great record squeezed in between the self-titled debut and london calling.]
Spoon - "Written in Reverse" [from transference. hey, hopefully this won't get my podcast pulled down this week. things seem to have been worked out. here's hoping, at least.]
Blur - "No Distance Left to Run" [by twitter request! from 13. this album has been coming up a lot lately - maybe it's finally going to get its due respect in the blur catalogue as well.]
>
Blair - "Rampage" [from die young. you can check out my review of this excellent album over at aquarium drunkard. really can't wait to finally see her live one of these days. probably not going to make it to SXSW, sadly.]
X - "Your Phone's Off the Hook, But You're Not" [from los angeles. this goes out to my trivia buddies at lindley park filling station last night who were excellent partners for dominating the game and winning it all. one expressed his love for X, so how could i resist?]
the Roadside Graves - "Far and Wide" [from my son's home. they'll be at nightlight in chapel hill this saturday night, january 30th. so amazing live. make sure you get out to see them, folks.]
Interpol - "Stella Was a Diver and She Was Always Down" [by request. from turn on the bright lights. and hey! speaking of trivia, this was a request from one of the members of the quiz bowl team i coach at the high school where i teach. he obviously has good taste.]
>
the Happy Hollows - "Faces" [from spells, another new album out on the autumn tone record label, alongside the new blair album. these guys..rock. wow. we'll be hearing a lot more.]
Midnight Oil - "The Dead Heart" [from diesel and dust. heard this over the speakers during trivia last night and was moved to play it. i will go to bat for midnight oil any day of the week. what a band.]
Massive Attack - "Pray For Rain" [from the splitting the atom EP. this track features tunde adebimpe from tv on the radio and while it's low key and wandering at times, it's pretty righteous. looking forward to hearing their new full length later this year.]
Built to Spill - "You Were Right" [from keep it like a secret. this song was one of the highlights of seeing them at the pitchfork festival last year. such a great song from an amazing album.]
>
Los Campesinos! - "In Media Res" [from their new album romance is boring. i disagree, but this song is certainly not boring. we'll be hearing a lot more.]
the Church - "Reptile" [from starfish. this is one of my all-time favorite church songs. first heard it on WQFS years ago on chuck carrol's radio show. i called in to ask who it was and upon learning, ran to my local indie record shop and bought the album immediately. i miss our stores.]
Caribou - "Odessa" [from the forthcoming swim which will be out in april. this is quite a bit of a departure from the beach-boys-fuzzed-out-gorgeousness of 2008's andorra but it promises to be pretty interesting.]
P.O.S. - "Low Light Low Life" [by twitter request! from never better. this was my #1 single of last year and for good reason. jeez louise, what an amazing song.]
>
the Tallest Man on Earth - "King of Spain" [from the forthcoming the wild hunt, due out in april on dead oceans. you can download this song over at aquarium drunkard. and wow. have i said how amazing this song is? he's playing here at guilford on april 27th, so stay tuned for details about that.]
Josh Rouse - "Feeling No Pain" [from under cold blue stars. josh has a new record dropping in march and i'm pretty stoked to hear it. so i dug out one of my all time favorites of his. we'll hear some more scattered in the lead up to his latest.]
Susu - "Calling" [from r and r and r. yes, it's still awesome. get used to it. looking forward to writing this one up.]
Ben Lee - "New Song" [from something to remember me by. certainly my favorite ben lee album - he's slipped away from me over the years, but i do still enjoy digging back and enjoying the fruits of his early albums. everything up through breathing tornadoes i think is quite sharp.]
the Replacements - "Talent Show" (live) [by request from someone who told me to play my favorite replacements song. hard to do, but this is probably my favorite live song of theirs - every live version i've ever heard is fantastic. and let's face it - how is this performance not just stupid great? exactly.]

That'll do it for this week. I'll be back next week with more great new music. Until then, hit up your local music shows this week and have a blast. Go Heels! and take care.

J's Indie/Rock Mayhem - 20th January 2010

[Welcome to another edition of J's Indie/Rock Mayhem. Tonight's show was really stellar - a great lineup of new and classic stuff, some great requests, some great randomness. I'm really enjoying getting the requests on Twitter during the show, so keep 'em coming at me. Just send an @ message to jneas81 and let me know what you want to hear. I'll do my best as always.

We'll be going into training mode the next two weeks, so don't be surprised if I have some guests up the next couple of weeks. Meanwhile, let's get into it. Onward.]

Update: If you've read in the comments, you'll notice the Web Sheriff comment. I've had a Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) notice filed against the podcast alleging 'piracy' issues over playing music by Spoon. I've already spoken with the fine folks at Merge Records who were fine with me having the songs on there and am in the process of fixing this. Unfortunately, until this is rectified, my podhost service is required to remove the podcast from availability. I will let you know as soon as the January 20th show is available again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

J's Indie/Rock Podcast: 20th January 2010 show

Theme Song - Peaches - "Rock Show"
>
Tune-Yards - "Sunlight" [from bird brains. i slept on this record last year and wow, what a mistake. i played this song a few weeks ago, i think, but it came up again on random the other day and just caught me all over again.]
Suede - "Animal Nitrate" [from their self-titled debut. looks like suede (minus bernard butler) is reuniting to play a charity festival over in england. does this record still sound as good to you as it does to me? yeah, i thought it did.]
Fin Fang Foom - "Nome, Alaska" [from monomyth, their latest. quite engaging classic sounding indie-rock channeled through the post-rock leanings we're all secretly fond of in our darker moments.]
Passion Pit - "Little Secrets" [by twitter request! from their album manners. i love doing these twitter requests. just send me an @ message at my twitter account: jneas81 - you don't even have to be following me to do it, but hey, it doesn't hurt. i'm fun to follow.]
>
Blair - "Candy in the Kitchen" [from the forthcoming die young which is out next week. i adore blair and i adore this record. we'll be reviewing it over at aquarium drunkard next week, so keep your eyes peeled.]
Iron Maiden - "Flight of Icarus" [from piece of mind. i hadn't listened to my copy of this in some time, so i pulled it out this week and forgot how much i love the songs that aren't called "the trooper." still, "the trooper." amiright? what a song.]
The King Khan and BBQ Show - "I'll Be Loving You" [from last year's invisible girl. there's some really exciting music flowing through the veins and minds of these guys constantly it seems. great rock and roll. check out the awesome video.]
Aziz Ansari - "Are White People Psyched All The Time?" [a bit from his new stand-up album, intimate moments for a sensual evening. hilarious comedy that i definitely recommend.]
Decoration Ghost - "Camera Bag and a Backpack" [a demo of a song from their forthcoming debut album. greensboro rock and roll. they'll be at the green bean next friday night, january 29th, along with athens, georgia's part bear and winston-salem's the tallboys.]
>
Gil Scott-Heron - "Me and the Devil" [from his forthcoming album i'm new here, his first new record in 14 years. he'll be playing/performing at the carolina theatre in durham, north carolina on friday, february 5th. i'll be there. catch a legend while you can.]
Tom Waits - "Way Down in the Hole" (live) [from the big time live record. seemed an appropriate song to follow up the gil scott-heron, theme wise, at least. a great version of this classic originally from franks wild years.]
Jay Reatard - "Nothing Now" [from watch me fall. more music from the sadly, recently late musician.]
the Only Ones - "Another Girl, Another Planet" [from their self-titled debut, but here from the alone in the dark best-of collection. i was turned onto this band, as i imagine a good handful of people were, through the replacements. great post-punk.]
>
Vampire Weekend - "Horchata" [from contra, which, by the way, was the number one album in america this week according to billboard. it's only the 12th indie-label record to achieve that in the nearly 20 years that they've been keeping up with this stuff. awesome.]
Citified - "Secret Knock" [from their self-titled debut. great greensboro rock. they'll be playing at the green bean next thursday, january 28th, along with chapel hill's north elementary and atlanta, georgia's the good graces - all on eskimo kiss records. great music, all.]
Fruit Bats - "My Unusual Friend" [from the ruminant band. played this song last week on the early edition of the show, so had to bring it back for the podcast. great pop.]
the Dandy Warhols - "Hells Bells" [from the bohemian like you CD single. yes, this is a cover of the AC/DC classic and yes, it's awesome. slowed down, rumbly, horn section. man, it's good.]
>
Spoon - "Out Go the Lights" [from transference. my friend, laura, and i were having a discussion about this album last night. we're both fans of the band. i like this album. she doesn't. we weren't able to dig deeper than that, but i'm interested to see what other spoon fans think. thoughts?]
Superchunk - "Late-Century Dream" [from here's to shutting up. a great song from a great record by a great band. did i mention..great?]
the Cave Singers - "At the Cut" [from welcome joy. another record that got past me last year. i have got to do a better job of listening to things this year. that's definitely a goal of mine - otherwise awesome songs like this get past me.]
Johnny Russell - "Rednecks, White Socks and Blue Ribbon Beer" [the title track from this album. i heard this song on WQFS about 5 years ago and i went out of my way to hunt this thing down. amazing song. this is country.]
>
Frightened Rabbit - "Swim Until You Can't See Land" [from the forthcoming the winter of mixed drinks. one of the best live bands i saw last year - i hope they'll come south for this record. you know. south from scotland.]
Public Image Ltd. - "Careering" [from second edition. been spending time with one of my favorite post-punk records recently. it's a dense, challenging album, but man, is it great great stuff. i would probably never go out of my way to recommend it to anyone unless i really knew their taste. that said, if you've never heard it, go to it.]
Chuck Prophet - "Sonny Liston's Blues" [from !let freedom ring! a really raucous and dark song. this is, after all, the guy who co-wrote a lot of alejandro escovedo's amazing real animal the other year. get on it.]
the Replacements - "Portland" [from the re-issue of don't tell a soul, but also available as part of the second disc of the all for nothing/nothing for all collection. lyrically this song shares some ties with "talent show," and it's one of my very favorite non-album mats tracks.]
>
Susu - "Clean vs. Dirty" [from r and r and r. more raucous rock and roll from this excellent band's excellent new album.]
the Rain Parade - "This Can't Be Today" [from emergency third rail power trip. one of the defining albums of the paisley underground movement and for very good reasons. all neo-psych fans, pay attention.]
Vic Chesnutt - "In My Way, Yes" [from silver lake. i'll probably be closing the show down with vic for awhile. here's another lovely song from his 2003 album. and here's the write-up from that excellent chesnutt song blog.]

That'll do it for this week. I'll see you guys back here next week for more awesome music. Until then, Go Heels!, and take care.

J's Indie/Rock Mayhem - 13th January 2010

[Welcome to another edition of J's Indie/Rock Mayhem. We're getting back into the swing of things as new releases start dropping again after the holiday break, so a lot of great new music this week.

Really sad news with the passing of Jay Reatard, rather unexpectedly, in his sleep at the age of 29. So much potential great music now lost. It's been a hard month or two for lovers of independent and original music - losing both Vic Chesnutt and Jay Reatard (45 and 29, respectively) at way too young an age for both. Let's hope this trend doesn't continue.

Now, while Alison's starting to happen, onward.]

J's Indie/Rock Podcast: 13th January 2010 show

Theme Song - Peaches - "Rock Show"
>
Spoon - "Who Makes Your Money" [from the forthcoming transference. this record was getting lots of talk this week since the advance copies went out. initial verdict? pretty rad.]
the B-52's - "6060-842" [from their self-titled debut. could a finer, more hip and more unique record have been released in 1979? maybe, but i haven't heard it.]
Califone - "Funeral Singers" [from all my friends are funeral singers. still one of my favorite albums of last year - a truly gorgeous listen.]
the Ramones - "I Just Wanna Have Something to Do" [from road to ruin. i don't play the ramones enough on the show - they're just one of those ubiquitous bands that don't need a ton of airplay. but this song...is just tough.]
>
Jay Reatard - "There Is No Sun" [from watch me fall. the surprising and extremely sad news of reatard's death really shook up this afternoon in indie music. this record was a really great slice of noisy power-pop and this song, especially, showed a really awesome future for reatard's work. sadly, no more.]
Simple Minds - "Speed Your Love to Me" [from sparkle in the rain. i first heard this song some time ago, i think thanks to a write-up on the AV club, one of my favorite daily pop culture reads. if i remember correctly, steve lillywhite produced this album and he's had his thumb in more than one excellent pie over the years.]
Lake Inferior - "Addressing Parents" [from pegasaur. one of my favorite NC bands, both studio and live. this new EP is an excellent progression on their sound as well.]
the Jayhawks - "Tailspin" [from rainy day music. while probably my least favorite of the post-mark olson jayhawks oeuvre, it's still a fantastic album - this song always stuck out to me in a serious way, too.]
>
Blair - "Kamikaze" [finally! die young is getting a release in two weeks on the autumn tone record label. blair is an artist i've been pushing for quite some time - a really great songwriter and we'll be hearing a lot more now that the release is finally here.]
Kent - "If You Were Here" [from isola. when i first went on the air over ten years ago, i played kent quite a bit. admittedly, this is the only kent record i own, but it really did a number on me back in the late 90s. anyone out there a fan or have recommendations of other albums?]
Susu - "M.B.T." [from r and r and r. raucous, new york rock and roll. what else can be said other than that it's good? quite good.]
Benji Hughes - "Baby, It's Your Life!" [from a love extreme. got the pleasure of finally seeing benji live over christmas and he put on a great show. i hear that he's not on new west anymore which is a bummer. kudos to them for having the guts to put out a double album debut, even if it didn't go through the roof.]
>
Vampire Weekend - "Cousins" [from the new contra. these guys played this on letterman earlier this week and apparently tore it up. sigh. am i going to have to rethink my thoughts on this band? changing your mind is hard and stuff.]
Morrissey - "The Boy Racer" [by twitter request. from southpaw grammar. i'll be taking requests via twitter each week (just message @jneas81) and this was one that came in. while i've always enjoyed the smiths and morrissey, i'm no more than a casual listener. so it's good to hear some things i haven't heard before. and find that they're just as good as i'd expected.]
Cymbals Eat Guitars - "Living North" [from why there are mountains. these guys will be playing at local 506 in chapel hill on sunday, march 7th along with..]
Bear in Heaven - "Wholehearted Mess" [from beast rest forth mouth. yeah. bear in heaven and cymbals eat guitars together? holy moly, what a rock show. i will be there. there's a reason bear in heaven was my #2 album of 2009.]
>
Dave Rawlings Machine - "To Be Young (Is To Be Sad Is To Be High)" [from a friend of a friend. yes, this is THE dave rawlings doing a knock down version of the song he co-wrote with ryan adams for the latter's heartbreaker. pretty good version, too.]
Lou Reed - "Waves of Fear" [from the blue mask. the head drunkard and i had a conversation about lou reed records we hadn't listened to back during the summer and this one, specifically, came up on his end. it's one of my favorite reed albums, mostly because of robert quine's presence on guitar, and this song is a great example of just how good it gets.]
the Mountain Goats - "Genesis 30:3" [from the excellent the life of the world to come. while it'll be forever hard to remember just what these songs' titles are thanks to darnielle's biblical passage names, it's still a great record.]
Sisters of Mercy - "Lucretia, My Reflection" [by request. from floodlands. i've never listened to a lot of sisters of mercy because, well, goth is a prickly genre. but damn this is a great song and i'm going to have to hear more.]
>
Built to Spill - "Hindsight" [from last year's excellent there is no enemy. kicking myself for not going to see them at the cradle, but, well, you know. life.]
the Posies - "Solar Sister" [from frosting on the beater. one of the high water marks of power pop as a genre. need i remind you what i think of this record? well, i just did.]
the Roadside Graves - "Ruby" [by request. from my son's home. they'll be at nightlight in chapel hill on saturday, january 30th. get excited for an awesome live show.]
the Replacements - "If Only You Were Lonely" [originally the b-side to the "i'm in trouble" single, but also available on the out-of-print, european import EP boink! oh, and the re-issue of sorry ma forgot to take out the trash that came out in 2008 also. a great, early westerberg gem.]
>
Jill Andrews - "Sweetest in the Morning" [from her self-titled EP. formerly one-half of the songwriting pair in the everybodyfields, this is a promising debut from a talented writer.]
the Lemonheads - "Hey That's No Way to Say Goodbye" [from varshons, the tidy little covers record released last year. the female voice on this is liv tyler - go figure. evan dando will be at tremont music hall in charlotte on tuesday, february 9th. i plan on being there as well.]
the Decemberists - "O, Valencia!" [by request. from the crane wife. sadly all of our CDs, except for this single, seem to have walked. c'mon, DJs. go steal from the internet, not the station.]
Vic Chesnutt - "Isadora Duncan" [from little, the first track from his debut. we'll probably be hearing something by vic every week for a while. there's such a rich body of work to be mined - i can't help but want to work a lot of it in.]

That'll do it for this week. I'll be back next week with lots of great new stuff and more classic music, as always. Until then, take care.

J's Indie/Rock Mayhem - 6th January 2010

[Welcome to the first edition of J's Indie/Rock Mayhem of 2010. First off, I'll have to apologize for the Best of 09 Album show not having made an appearance yet. I'm way behind on writing it up and playing catch up with a lot of work in general. I'm going to go ahead and throw this week's show up though just to stay on top of that. Keep your eyes peeled for the Top 25 Albums show coming soon.

Now, before I fall over, onward.]

J's Indie/Rock Podcast: 6th January 2010 Show

Theme Song - Peaches - "Rock Show"
>
Obits - "Fake Kinkade" [from i blame you. a great record and still worth playing. even if it is a new year. oh, rock and roll.]
Pulp - "Joyriders" [from his 'n' hers. i think it's time to spend a few weeks digging back through the pulp archives. what do you say?]
Spank Rock - "Touch Me" [from yoyoyoyoyo. on new years, i had the joy of running into someone who actually knew these guys. awesome since every time i bring them up, i'm usually met with blank stares. here's hoping for a new album eventually.]
the Raveonettes - "Heart of Stone" [from in and out of control. my #2 song of 2009 is hard to put away. it's oh so good. their best album since the debut.]
>
Susu - "Calling" [from r and r and r. i'm liking this new susu record. y'all will too, i have no doubt, when it drops.]
Kathleen Edwards - "Summerlong" [by request. from back to me. any kathleen edwards request will almost certainly always be filled by me, but any request for "summerlong" will most definitely be fulfilled. possibly my favorite of her songs.]
J's Indie/Rock First Times - Vic Chesnutt [this was recorded last august when i interviewed vic. i played it back then, but thought i'd bring it out again in his memory. don't be surprised if there's a full on in-memorium show here on the site before the end of the month.]
Vic Chesnutt - "Panic Pure" [from west of rome. i saw this song mentioned in a lot of in-memorium pieces, and it is an amazing tune, without question. rest in peace, vic.]
Arctic Monkeys - "Crying Lightning" [from humbug. this album never grabbed me as much as either of their previous efforts, but it wasn't for lack of trying. they're still quite a great band.]
>
the Whigs - "In the Dark" [the title track from their forthcoming album due out in march. if you get a chance to see these guys live, do yourself a favor and do it. now. if you can.]
the Breeders - "The New Year" [from last splash. seemed appropriate, right? i mean. first show of the new year. the new year, you know? yeah. great song, too.]
Bob Mould - "Poison Years" [by request. from workbook, an album we talked about over at aquarium drunkard this week. i've never spent a lot of time with bob mould's solo work, to be honest. i need to rectify that, don't i?]
Califone - "Polish Girls" [from all my friends are funeral singers, easily one of my favorite albums of last year. just layered and subtle and gorgeous.]
>
Rogue Wave - "Good Morning" [from the forthcoming permalight. i'm not sure what i think of the sonic direction that rogue wave has taken, but it might appeal to folks who enjoy..i don't know...what...the postal service? i never cared much for them, to be frank. we'll see if the rest of the record sounds the same.]
Rise Against - "My Life Inside Your Heart" [by request. from the unraveling. not the type of stuff i'd typically play on the show, but the guy asked so nicely. oh well.]
Cymbals Eat Guitars - "Some Treest (Merritt Moon)" [from the excellent why there are mountains. they'll be at local 506 in chapel hill on sunday, march 7th with Bear in Heaven. I'll be there.]
Sleater-Kinney - "Get Up" [from the hot rock. this and "the size of our love" constantly battle as probably my all-time favorite sleater-kinney songs. there's something about that album.]
>
Vampire Weekend - "Horchata" [from contra which will be out a little later this year. i admittedly paid these guys no attention on that first album. saw them live in 2008 and enjoyed their set - but still wasn't sure what to make of the album. we'll see if i change my mind.]
Warren Zevon - "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner" [from excitable boy. i was talking zevon a month or so ago with a musician here in greensboro and he mentioned his love for this song. i love it, too.]
Marah - "Round Eye Blues" [from kids in philly, a record i totally forgot to write about for our best of the decade stuff over at aquarium drunkard and i'm deeply ashamed. this song lyrically matched up well with "roland.." so i threw it on. great, great stuff.]
Yo La Tengo - "Cherry Chapstick" [from and then nothing turned itself inside out. this ranks so highly on my list of all-time best yo la tengo songs. it's such an outlier on a pretty quiet and subdued record, though. still, YLT's best of the 00s as far as i'm concerned.]
>
Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band - "Big Black Nothing" [from outer south. admittedly, i'm bad about creating a prejudice for an artist and sticking with it. i did that with oberst years ago and just never gave the poor guy a second chance. but the more i open myself up to what's going on on this record, the more open minded i might become. we'll see.]
Teenage Fanclub - "About You" [from grand prix. meanwhile, one of my absolute favorite power-pop bands of all time. this is probably my favorite teenage fanclub album as a whole. they really are more of a single band, but this album is packed to the gills with great songs.]
Pop Will Eat Itself - "Wise Up! Sucker" [from this is the day..this is the hour..this is this! i've been in the mood to watch the warriors again lately, so obviously this album is going to work its way into the mix for awhile. get set.]
Bombadil - "Oto the Bear" [from tarpits and canyonlands. one of my favorite records of this past year and one of my favorite north carolina bands. just great music, really.]
>
Wye Oak - "Tattoo" [from the knot, another of my favorite albums of last year. and man, is it. a really surprisingly great sophomore effort from these guys.]
Swirlies - "BELL" [from blonder tongue audio baton. can i talk about how much i love swirlies? yes? well. just go get this album and everything else they ever recorded and just gorge yourself. seriously. shoegaze, punk and noise and just everything vital and great about the 80s and 90s together. a caller called in and loved it - another fan converted.]
Tiny Vipers - "Dreamer" [from life on earth. there's something almost kurt wagner-esque about the vocal delivery here. i'll have to hear more - i know i slept on this one last year.]
the Lemonheads - "If I Could Talk I'd Tell You" [from car button cloth. gotta love the dictator-related puns. "your place, or mein kampf," being my particular favorite.]
>
the Modern Lovers - "Roadrunner" [from their self-titled debut. jonathan richman will be at the cat's cradle in carborro on tuesday, february 9th.]

That'll do it for this week. Until next time, take care.
