Go Triad reviews Consensus

The weekly entertainment supplement to our local paper, Go Triad, includes a review by Jerry Rowe of the WQFS compilation Consensus: Celebrating 36 Years of College Radio at WQFS Greensboro. He gave it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars praising the diversity and sequencing of the varied artists. But my favorite excerpt comes in the middle of the passage. (emphasis mine)

"Consensus" doesn't disappoint. Matter of fact, it's much better than the two compilations released recently by WQFS's cross-town rival, UNCG's WUAG (103.1 FM) because [Kelly Davis; Guilford alum and former DJ] spread his net nationwide to bring in Guilford College's far-flung points of talent.

I don't think I need to say anything else about that.

Don't forget that the Consensus release show is this Saturday at 8pm in the Guilford College Underground featuring Feces for Warpaint, Adam Thorn and the Top Buttons, Health and Samuel Robison. It's free and will be the first place you can purchase copies of the new compilation.

One more quote from Rowe:

The resulting disc spotlights an eclectic radio station that Princeton Review, the SAT folks, ranks as one of the country's best college radio stations.

Word.
