Upcoming Interview: The Whigs
A band you haven't heard here on Indie/Rock Mayhem, but soon will, Athens, Georgia's The Whigs, will be my guest in studio this Wednesday on the show. They are playing this Wedneseday, March 7th at Ziggy's in Winston-Salem and on Friday, March 9th at Local 506 in Chapel Hill.
Their 2005 debut, Give 'Em All a Big Fat Lip, is a rollicking collection of whip-smart rock and roll with tendencies that remind me of parts The Jam, Elvis Costello and others of a similar smartly written indie-rock vein. These guys were also listed as one of Rolling Stone magazine's "10 Artists to Watch" back in 2006. Here's your chance to get a listen:

In conjunction with the interview, my usual partners in crime over at B.B.'s New and Used CDs and DVDs will be changing up our usual weekly giveaway. Since it's Spring Break and we're on temporary scheduling, I'll be covering a four hour block this week, so tune in from 6pm - 10pm for some extra goodness. I'll only be podcasting the regular two hour slot however. The interview with The Whigs should be happening around the top of the 7 o'clock hour or a bit before.
