Rain Delay

Rain pours outside my window here at work and due to an unusually heavy work load, Notes From Underground is taking a hiatus this week. But first a few points of interest.

First - Don't forget that my interview with A. A. Bondy, whose American Hearts was the J's Indie/Rock # 8 album of 2007, will be broadcast on the show this coming Wednesday. Accordingly, the fine folks at BB's New and Used CDs and DVDs have a copy of American Hearts that you can win if you're this week's trivia contest winner. Thanks as always to the folks at BB's for their support for college radio and WQFS in particular. Since they are the last independent music store remaining in Greensboro, please take the time to buy your music from them if you live in the area. They can always use your business.

Second - Don't be sad if you can't make it to the sold-out Drive-by Truckers show at the Orange Peel in Asheville on Saturday, March 29th. They've now added back-to-back nights at the Cat's Cradle in Chapel Hill on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 13th and 14th.

Third - A somewhat exciting (for me - maybe for you) piece of news will be coming up shortly, which also (in addition to work) helped to cause this respite in posting. So stay tuned for that.

Everyone have a safe and wonderful weekend, Go Heels!, and I'll be back on Monday with my review of the new Gutter Twins album. Until then, take care.
